Lisa Martin, owner and director of SEDA has been a teacher/choreographer for over 20 years. She has studied many areas of dance since the age of 2, including ballet, jazz, tap, hip-hop, lyrical, modern, and pointe. Her passion for over twenty years has been choreography in all areas of dance with a strong focus in classical ballet.
Lisa studied ballet and pointe with Ballet Magnificat in Jackson, Mississippi. She studied ballet, pointe and modern at North Carolina School of the Arts in Winston Salem, North Carolina. She has taking Master classes with Frank Hatchett and Savion Glover just to name a few. She studied under Melissa Hayden a former Prima Ballerina for the New York City Ballet and a member of ABT (American Ballet Theatre). Lisa has been performing since the age of 6. She was a dancer for the Dance Theatre of Fayetteville two years in a row. She has won awards for her performing and her choreography in regional and national competitions.
Lisa started teaching at the age of 12 as student teacher. Over the years her students have been accepted into many prestigious dance training programs. Her students have been accepted and have attended programs at North Carolina School of the Arts summer and residential, South Carolina Governor’s School summer intensive, Joffrey Ballet summer intensive, Joffrey Tap summer intensive and Joffrey Jazz and Contemporary summer intensive. Several of her students attend Rolling’s Middle School of the Arts for dance. Lisa’s students have also won numerous awards in regional and national competitions. They have also won special judges awards and scholarships for continued training. Lisa is so excited for SEDA. It has been her life long dream to have a dance environment that will focus on the dancers training and the passion of dance while in a positive and comfortable atmosphere.
SEDA After School Program
