Krysten Busch has been teaching dance since 2011. She relocated to the Charleston area with her husband in 2014, and is the mother of three boys. Krysten graduated Winthrop University in 2014, obtaining a bachelor’s degree in K-12 Dance Education. Krysten grew up dancing and training in Atlanta, Ga and relocated to South Carolina in 2009.

For the past four years, Krysten was the Artistic Director for Dance with the Berkeley Center for the Arts, hosted at Goose Creek High School. Here, she established the Berkeley Dance Company and the Goose Creek Dance Team. Both teams participated in various competitions throughout the Southeast, achieving a over 30 awards, including two national titles.

Krysten has also taught at other Performing Arts Institutions as well we private dance studios throughout South Carolina. She has trained variety of artistic directors and choreographers including Alvin Ailey’s Judith Jamison, Amy Marshall Dance Company, Garth Fagan, Brian Friedman, Mia Michaels, and more and has attended many dance conventions, including the American College Dance Festival.

Krysten is also a member of the National Dance Education Organization and was previously the director of the National Dance Honors Society Chapter at Goose Creek High School. She is a previous instructor for the Berkeley School District STEP summer program. Her main objective is to teach students the art of movement while encouraging confidence and self-respect.

Krysten aspires to receive her Master’s in Education in the near future, as well as her certification through Dance Masters of America. She is excited to be the new ballet instructor for Southern Elite Dance Academy.


OLD – Jillian has been involved in the arts since a very young age. Originally from upstate NY, she trained and danced competitively with the Danek School of Performing Arts for over 15 years, earning top awards in both regional and national competitions. She also studied modern for several years under the direction of Amber Perkins, and received additional dance training while earning her B.S. in Management at Binghamton University. Jillian moved to Charleston in 2010 to pursue a career in computer software.

She is currently employed with Blackbaud, Inc. on Daniel Island, but has always continued to dedicate a majority of her free time to her biggest passion (dance). For four seasons she trained and performed with contemporary dance company ‘The Charleston Dance Project’. Now, she teaches and choreographs at several different studios throughout the lowcountry, and truly enjoys sharing her knowledge and love of tap dancing with all of her students.
