Amy Billings – Voice Instructor

Amy Cheifetz Billings is a voice teacher and performer who has recently relocated to Summerville, South Carolina after seven years in Salem, Oregon and prior to that, twelve years in New York City. In Oregon, she had a thriving private vocal studio, performed regularly with local theatres and vocal directed numerous musicals with Pentacle Theatre.

While in NYC, she was a member of the voice faculty at the American Musical and Dramatic Academy (AMDA NY), performed extensively throughout the region, and maintained a successful private vocal studio. Originally from California, Amy has been performing in Musical Theatre, Opera, and professional choirs since the age of 10. She has earned degrees in vocal performance from the University of California, Irvine (B. Music) and the University of Washington (M. Music, D.M.A. abd).

Her diverse performing credits include Musical Theatres roles such as The Witch in Into the Woods and Hodel in Fiddler on the Roof, operatic roles including Musetta in La Bohème and Despina in Così fan tutte, a solo recital of at the Salle Cortot in Paris, France, and was a member of the Metropolitan Opera’s Opera Outreach program. Ms. Billings was a Visiting Professor of Voice at Ball State University’s School of Theatre and Dance in Indiana and has taught voice class for dancers at Princeton Dance and Theater Studio in New Jersey.

Her students perform on Broadway (including Waitress, Hairspray, Wicked, The Color Purple), in National and International Tours (including Wicked, A Chorus Line, Cinderella, Oklahoma!), and Regional houses across the United States and Canada. Here website is www.amycsings.com
